Music To Their Ears: West Orange Student Musicians Hit High Notes

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Several student-musicians from West Orange recently earned their way into regional choirs and bands, district administrators announced Thursday.

Five high school honors chamber choir students were accepted into the Region I Choir following auditions during the Jan. 7 weekend.

James Tibang, Ezra Simon, Paige Palent, Elena Hause and Chris Pierre were selected from a large field of talented students across northern New Jersey (see above photo).

Meanwhile, West Orange High School musicians Owen Butler and Andrew Strom were named to the Region I North Jersey Symphonic Band. Butler (percussionist) and Strom (trumpet player) are also both members of the award-winning Wind Ensemble and Marching Band (see below photo).
