National Historical Park In West Orange Is Hiring For Guide Jobs

Thomas Edison National Historical Park is hiring for several permanent park guide positions. Here's what the job entails.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Have you ever wanted to work as a guide at a national historical park? Here’s your chance, the Thomas Edison National Historical Park announced Tuesday.

The park posted the following message on social media about some new job openings:

“Have you ever wanted to work at Thomas Edison NHP? Talk to visitors and tell the story of Thomas Edison, his wife Mina and family? Maybe demonstrate how an early phonograph works? Now is your chance. The park is advertising for several permanent park guide positions. The announcement will be open through 11:59 p.m. on April 21.”

According to the posting on usajobs.gov, the primary purpose of the position is to provide guide services to visitors. The work involves giving talks, interpreting natural and historic features, answering questions, guiding tours and providing miscellaneous services to visitors.
