  • Jersey City – Similar speculation about a new store in Hudson County sparked rumors among local business groups last year. The store will be located at 55 Hudson Street in Jersey City. An opening date is anticipated for 2027, the Jersey City Times reported.
  • Montvale – Last year, Trader Joe’s applied to open at the Chestnut Ridge Shopping Center in Montvale. The planning application got a mixed reaction from local residents on social media, with some people asking why a store can’t come to their town – and others asking about potential impacts on traffic.

A spokesperson previously confirmed to Patch that the company intends to open a location in the township, although a specific location and date weren’t available at the time. The new West Orange location is listed as 471 Mount Pleasant Avenue on the company’s “Coming Soon” section of its website.

Currently, Trader Joe’s has New Jersey stores in the following locations: Brick, Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Clifton, Denville, Edgewater, Florham Park, Freehold, Hoboken, Iselin/Woodbridge, Marlton, Middletown Township, Millburn, North Brunswick, Paramus, Princeton, Shrewsbury, Wayne, Westfield, and Westwood.
