Newark-Born Businesswoman Opening Salon In West Orange

A New Jersey entrepreneur with ties to Newark and Orange is opening a Blo Blow Dry Bar in West Orange.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A New Jersey entrepreneur with ties to Newark and Orange is opening a Blo Blow Dry Bar in West Orange.

According to a company news release, there will be a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the salon on Wednesday, Feb. 13 that is free and open to the public. The event will take place from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at 235 Prospect Avenue in West Orange.

The 1,600 square foot West Orange location – which has 10 service stations – will be the second Blo Blow Dry Bar franchise in New Jersey. (Learn more about this local business here)

Owner Dawanna Williams, who was born in Newark and raised in Orange, who has more than 30 years of experience in business and accounting, is fulfilling a personal dream to own a business, she said.

“As a woman stepping into my new role as an entrepreneur, it was very important to me to own a business that plays a part in empowering other women,” Williams said. “Hair is one of our most important features and having a great hairstyle helps boost our confidence so we feel ready to accomplish any feat.”
