NJ Group Collects $2,100 In Gift Cards For Domestic Violence Victims
The Rachel Coalition has been active in Essex County and North Jersey, working with victims and family members impacted by domestic violence
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A group that works to improve the lives of people affected by domestic violence continues to make a difference in North Jersey.
The Rachel Coalition – a division of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ – provides a variety of services to assist victims of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and people living in high-conflict relationships.
Recently, the group hosted its annual Community Education Luncheon, which raised more than $2,100 in gift cards for domestic violence victims and their families. Proceeds from the luncheon also help to support the Rachel Coalition’s mission.

The event featured New York Times best-selling author, Rachel Louise Snyder, who shared her experiences with domestic violence. Snyder’s newest book, “Women We Buried, Women We Burned: A Memoir,” will be discussed at the next JFS/Rachel Coalition Book Club on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Learn more or register online here.
Among its many services for clients, the coalition helps to train volunteers for a court advocate program that assists domestic violence victims with emotional and administrative support as they await their restraining order hearings in Essex Family Court.
