NJ Transit Opens New Bus Plaza At Secaucus Junction: Will Benefit Train-To-Bus Transfers

The new facility includes 14 bus platforms, a 590-foot canopy, a layover area and new shelters.

Bus riders in North Jersey have a new plaza at Secaucus Junction.

According to NJ Transit, the new bus plaza – which opened on Tuesday - includes 14 platforms, a 590-foot canopy, a bus layover area as well as new shelters, lighting, public address system, closed-circuit video cameras and dynamic signage.

The bus plaza will serve intrastate and interstate lines as well as local shuttle buses and some private carriers, NJ Transit officials stated in a news release.

The $15.2 million federally-funded facility will serve about 1,500 daily commuters who primarily transfer from trains to buses, NJ.com reported.
