NJ Volunteers Deliver Passover Packages To Homebound Seniors

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ’s Volunteer Services recently delivered Passover meals and packages to homebound older adults and Holocaust survivors in the New Jersey community. Working with a team of 17 volunteers, the meals and packages were delivered last week in time for the holiday.

In all, 141 packages were donated by Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, filled with non-perishables for the Passover holiday including grape juice, macaroons, chocolate macaroons, matzoh ball soup mix, and tuna fish. JFS MetroWest also included Matzah, masks, and hand sanitizer.

Social services for Jewish Nazi victims have been supported by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. Holocaust services are supported by a grant from The JFNA Center on Aging and Trauma, a project of the Holocaust Survivor Initiative. Holocaust services are also made possible by other generous partners, including Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, KAVOD SHEF in partnership with the Seed the Dream Foundation, the State of New Jersey, and the Wilf Family Foundation.

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest is a comprehensive social service agency providing mental health counseling and support services on a non-discriminatory basis. With a presence in the community since 1861, JFS today delivers an expanding number of programs to increasing numbers of people. For children and families, JFS provides individual, couple, child and family counseling, play therapy, support groups, school and synagogue based social work services, and other assistance needed to support healthy families.
