One Year Later: Nikhil Badlani Remembered With Concert

Many gather at Liberty Middle School on Monday, June 11, for tribute.

 

A year after was killed in a motor vehicle accident in South Orange, he was remembered on Monday evening, June 11, with a concert benefiting the music program that was founded to preserve his name. 

Many residents were in the audience at Liberty Middle School that evening to hear pieces played by students on piano, trumpet, guitar, oboe and saxophone, among others. The program hosts were Marci Echeverria and Garth Kravits.

After listening to a program which included “My Heart Will Go On,” “The Rakes of Mallow,” and “If I Ruled the World,” the audience was presented with a photo tribute to Nikhil Badlani.  

As of now, the Music for Nikhil program provides about 20 middle school students with weekly music lessons in a variety of instruments. And starting this September, the program will be expanding to the high school.
