Multi-Car Crash On I-280 Causes Traffic Delays: Police

Emergency responders took several people to the hospital after a crash on I-280 in West Orange , authorities said.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A multi-vehicle car crash overturned a vehicle and caused traffic delays on I-280 in West Orange on Monday evening, authorities said.

According to 511nj.org:

“As of 6:23 p.m., there's an overturned vehicle on I-280 eastbound, east of exit 10 - Northfield Ave/CR 508 in West Orange Twp. All lanes temporarily closed, 10-minute delay.”

New Jersey State Police posted the following advisory about the crash:

"Multiple vehicle MVA on I-280 EB MP 9.6 in West Orange. Troopers responded at 6:07 p.m. Several vehicles involved. All lanes closed. No fatalities reported at this time."

State police issued an update soon afterwards:

"Right lane open. Several people transported to area hospitals. No life-threatening injuries reported at this time."
