PHOTOS: West Orange High School Graduates 2015 Class

A total of 475 seniors received their diplomas at the school's 120th commencement ceremony.

Congratulations, West Orange High.

On June 22, a total of 475 West Orange High School Seniors graduated at the school’s 120th Annual Commencement, held at Codey Arena.

“This is the end of our high school careers and the beginning of a new path,” Salutatorian Abigail Chua told her fellow classmates.

Chua used the analogy of mathematical numbers to encourage individuality. “The definition of ‘normal’ is relative. We tend to think of ‘even’ as the norm and ‘odd’ as not, but an odd number has the capability of becoming even.”

“We will remember the people that smiled at us in the hallways; the hugs…it’s the lessons learned outside of class, acts big and small,” Valedictorian Isabel Kaspriskie noted.

Quoting Hermione Granger from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Kaspriskie concluded her speech by saying, “Books! And cleverness! There are more important things… friendship and bravery.”

School administrators presented engraved West Orange High School Academic Honor Medallions to 20 graduating seniors who represented the top five percent of the class: Emily Ali, Margaret Brown, Daphne Campbell, Abigail Chua, Andrew Cumming, Conal Donagher, Evan Easterling, Alexandra Gutierrez, Ethan Henley, Isabel Kaspriskie, Anna Lackey, Alison Lawlor, Michael Leonardis, Michaela Marconi, Angelica Pozzoli, Sarah Wardles, Maya Younker, Belle Zhang, Samuel Zheng, Xuran Zhong

Students then headed to Project Graduation at the Fun Plex in East Hanover to spend the night with their friends and enjoy food, swimming and games.
