Police Blotter: Couple Stabbed, Assault, Drug Possession

A husband and wife were allegedly stabbed in front of their home on Liberty Street, police said. The man had cuts on the side of his neck and his wife had cuts all over both hands, according to the police report. Police said there was blood all over the front steps and the door leading to the home when they arrived on scene last Thursday night. As the couple exited their vehicle around 11 p.m., the suspect approached the man and began stabbing him in the neck, police said. The wife tried to help her husband and was cut multiple times on her hands. The suspect then ran and drove off in his car, authorities said. Police said the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute involving an affair with the suspect's wife. No description of the suspect was provided by police. Both victims were taken to University Hospital.

 A man was allegedly stabbed by a box cutter after getting into an altercation on Harrison Avenue, police said. The victim told police he got into a verbal argument with a man at Egan's and Sons. As he was walking along Harrison Avenue, he told police he saw the suspect punching his girlfriend and intervened. The man was then allegedly cut several times on his hands last weekend, according to the incident report. The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and weapon possession, police said.

A West Orange High School student was allegedly caught with drugs while at school, police said. According to the incident report, the 17 year old was searched after security officials noticed he smelled of marijuana. Police said three clear plastic bags containing marijuana residue were found on the teen.

Another high school student was allegedly found with drugs, police said. Accroding to the incident report, three bags containing marijuana were found in the teen's pant pockets, police said.
