Police Probe Possible Fatal Stabbing In East Orange
An East Orange man died and two other people were hospitalized, authorities said.
EAST ORANGE, NJ — Police are investigating an apparent fatal stabbing that took place in East Orange on Monday, authorities said.
Calvin Scott, 43, of East Orange, sustained “what appear to be fatal stab wounds” on the 200-block of Brighten Avenue, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Orange Police Department.
Scott was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 11:33 am. The cause of death will be determined by autopsy, authorities said.

Two other people, a male and a female, are at University Hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. They are in stable condition, authorities said.
No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon, prosecutors said.
