PSEG Begins Electrical Work In West Orange: Here's Where It's Happening
The work will be taking place within the utility company's "right-of-way."
WEST ORANGE, NJ — PSE&G will be performing utility work in West Orange to beef up its electric distribution system, with work scheduled to continue through July.
According to a municipal advisory, the work will be taking place within the company’s right-of-way. PSE&G has notified residents on Colonial Woods Drive, McGuire Drive, and Mount Vernon Avenue, as well as the property at 861 Pleasant Valley Way.
As part of the project, PSE&G tentatively plans to begin electric manhole and conduit construction within the state and county right-of-way near 861 Pleasant Valley Way in mid-July 2026. This portion of the work is expected to occur primarily during nighttime hours, the advisory said.

The upgrade project will require construction crews to make road improvements, culvert upgrades, and barricade-fencing repairs.
“Following completion of construction activities, final restoration of disturbed areas will be performed after the soil has had sufficient time to settle, which may occur several months after construction is completed,” the township said.
