EAST ORANGE, NJ — An ongoing effort to breathe new life into an East Orange neighborhood reached a milestone this week, officials say.

According to a social media post from the city, the East Orange Housing and Community Development Corporation (EOHCDC) and The East Orange Housing Authority (EOHA) recently held a ribbon cutting event for 33-45 Eaton Place, a row of townhomes that have “transformed a longtime blighted site in the Greenwood Section of East Orange.”

“The Townhouses at Eaton Place feature single-family rental townhouses for low-to-moderate income families primarily restricted to families in the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as [Section 8] administered by the EOHA. The homes offer modern finishes, stainless steel appliances, central air, driveways with garages, backyards with decks, and beautiful landscaping.”

The project is part of the city’s continuing efforts to revitalize the area commonly known as the “Teen Streets,” by providing the community with quality, affordable housing for families to grow and thrive, officials added.
