Road Construction On Main Street In West Orange Begins Thursday
"While milling and paving work is taking place, sections of Main Street will be intermittently closed to non-emergency traffic."
WEST ORANGE, NJ — Road construction work is set to kick off in West Orange on Thursday, according to a municipal news release.
From Thursday, Oct. 21 to Thursday, Oct. 28, milling and paving work will take place during overnight hours (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.) on Main Street, from Harrison Avenue to High Street.
The work – which is being done under the Essex County Roadway Resurfacing Program – will take place “weather permitting,” officials said.

West Orange officials stated:
“While milling and paving work is taking place, sections of Main Street will be intermittently closed to non-emergency traffic. During these operations, access to and from your driveway or street may be prohibited. If you need to enter or leave your home or business during this time (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.), please make arrangements to park your vehicle at another location. Please follow all detour signs. Parking on main street during construction will not be permitted. New traffic patterns and signs will be posted.”
