Roosevelt Middle School's Annual Environmental Event Honors Guidance Counselor
Carol Sadler recognized during Wednesday's event.
On Wednesday May 21st, Roosevelt Middle School’s annual earth day was held led by the Roosevelt Science Department. The assembly included announcement of the winners of the Environmental Poetry Contest and the winners of the Environmental Bumper Sticker Contest. Musical and humorous skits ere performed by the 8th graders on themes inspired by reducing, reusing and recycling, general conservation and ways to show respect towards our environment.
This year's assembly included the planting of a Japanese Maple tree and presentations in honor of Carol Sadler, a beloved Roosevelt guidance counselor and teacher who served thousands of children in her remarkable career at Roosevelt, spanning more than a quarter of a century. Ms. Sadler who passed away unexpectedly three months ago.
Speakers included Roosevelt Assistant Principal Julianne Bello, Principal Lionel Hush and West Orange Environmental Commission Chair Mike Brick.
