Seton Hall Prep Rolls to State Semifinal

Unbeaten Seton Hall Prep, the No. 2 seed in the Non-Public Group IV playoffs, rolled to a 47-13 win over Paul VI of Haddonfield in a quarterfinal game played at Neigel Field in Millburn.

The Pirates, now 10-0, play No. 3 seed Bergen Catholic in a state semifinal Saturday at 1 p.m. at Livingston High School. The Pirates have won six state titles.

Senior fullback Kevin Monangai ran for 291 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries and became Seton Hall Prep's all-time rushing leader.

Monangai, who is Seton Hall's career-scoring leader, extended his yardage total to 4,437 to clear the old mark of 4,370 set by recent Prep Hall of Fame inductee Andre Callender from 2000 to 2002.

Monangai also became the school's first player to surpass 2,000 yards in a season.
