Spring Yard Waste Disposal Guidelines
Township releases information for residents

This week, the township released the following guidelines for residents who will be disposing of vegetative waste this spring:
Leaves: Between March 1st and May 31st the Public Works Department provides curbside pickup of leaves in biodegradable bags by request only. Loose leaves in the street will not be picked up in the spring.
Paper Leaf Bags may be purchased at the Engineering Department 25 Lakeside Avenue, at the Purchasing Department in Township Hall 66 Main Street or at the Township Environmental Center 590 Mt. Pleasant Avenue. These bags are for leaves only. Plastic bags or bags with grass, brush, dirt, stones, garbage or other material will not be accepted.
Branches: Residents are encouraged to bring brush and vegetative waste to the Recycling Center 590 Mount Pleasant Avenue. However, tree branches cut into 3 foot lengths and tied in bundles of under 50 lbs. are acceptable for regular garbage pickup. Large branches, shrubs, and logs will not be accepted. DPW will not pick up branches at curbside during spring cleanup.
DPW continues to work daily on removal of hanging branches still in the trees since the October snowstorm and will continue through the year until this project is completed. We are working street by street rather than respond to residential requests all over the Township as a more efficient way to maximize our work output. We thank you for your patience as we complete this task.
