‘Suspicious’ Men Seen Pulling On Car Doors In West Orange: Police
Two men tried to enter a car in a West Orange driveway, but didn't succeed. Police found another car in the area that was burglarized.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Authorities say two “suspicious” men were spotted pulling on car doors in West Orange last week, with a pair of vehicle-related crimes reported on the same day.
According to the West Orange Police Department, both incidents were reported on Colony Drive on June 14.
Officers responded to a home on the 20-block of Colony Drive East at 12:59 a.m. after getting a report about two men who were allegedly seen pulling on the door handles of cars in the area.

A resident told them that he got a motion notification from his Ring doorbell camera. Surveillance footage showed two men walking up the driveway. One of them pulled on the front passenger door handle in an attempt to illegally enter his sister’s vehicle, a 2014 BMW 428.
The men weren’t able to enter the car, which was “secured,” police said.

Video footage shows both men walking south on Colony Drive East, then they turn around and start walking towards Northfield Avenue, police said.
After checking the area, officers found another car in a nearby driveway with its interior lights on. After contacting the owner, police confirmed that the vehicle had been burglarized.
The car’s owner told officers that she parked it around 7 p.m. on June 13, leaving it unlocked. She said someone rummaged through the center console, but nothing was missing.
Officers didn’t find any suspects or additional burglaries after a further search of the area.
