Taxes And Spending: West Orange To Hold Town Budget Workshop
The West Orange school budget will have a tax increase for local homeowners. Learn what the municipal budget will hold in store on May 31.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Town Council has scheduled a budget workshop for Tuesday, May 31.
According to a municipal notice, the workshop will take place at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 66 Main Street. Action will be taken; no public comment will be heard.

A public hearing for the 2022 West Orange municipal budget was originally scheduled for May 3, but was postponed when a council member became ill, according to the town clerk's office. The hearing was then rescheduled for May 9, but was postponed again, the municipal finance department told Patch.

Earlier this month, the West Orange Board of Education unanimously approved the district's 2022-2023 budget, which will include a 2.42 percent tax increase for local homeowners.
It will mean a yearly tax increase of $218 for a home assessed at $336,282 – similar to what administrators predicted at a preliminary budget hearing in March.
