Teachers, Staff, Students In West Orange Honored

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A round of teachers, staff, students and administrators in West Orange recently got some well-earned kudos as part of the district’s end-of-year ceremonies.

Last month, the West Orange Board of Education held its annual staff recognition awards, which paid tribute to several high-performing staff members. They included:

NJDOE 2019 Exemplary Educator Award - Mike Bridge, Liberty Middle School, ELA teacher

Administrator of the Year 2019/2020 – Hayden Moore, West Orange High School principal

2019 AP Reading, The College Board – Michael Figueiredo, West Orange High School, AP world history teacher

Staff Appreciation Award – Musa Kaba, transportation dept., full-time driver

The West Orange Board of Education also paid tribute to students, community members, and outgoing board of education members Sandra Mordecai and Mark Robertson at their Dec. 16 meeting at West Orange High School.
