Thomas Edison Historic Park Affected By Government Shutdown

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The U.S. Senate has voted to pass a short-term funding bill that would reopen the federal government three days after it officially shut down. But the stalemate lasted long enough to touch West Orange.
On Monday, the Thomas Edison National Historic Park in West Orange issued a somewhat ironic Facebook message that “during a federal government shutdown, we do not monitor or update social media.” The park was closed for resource protection and safety, staff added.

“So sad,” one commenter wrote on Facebook.
