Turtle Back Zoo's Giraffes 'Doing Well' In West Orange

The trio of giraffes is part of a $7 million upcoming exhibit at the Turtle Back Zoo.

These are the names of the Turtle Back Zoo’s new residents, a trio of giraffes that are part of a $7 million exhibit tentatively slated to open this spring.

The 200 by 100 foot exhibit area will feature a climate-controlled barn, three-acres of land designed to mimic the African Savannah and multiple public viewing areas, county officials previously stated.

The exhibit is tentatively scheduled to open this spring, officials previously said.

“Our giraffes at Turtle Back Zoo are doing well,” Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo wrote via a Wednesday Facebook post.

DiVincenzo added that the new residents are still adjusting to their new surroundings.
