Verona Police Chase Stolen Car into West Orange

Verona police were involved in a short police chase on Friday, March 29 through the township and into West Orange, officials said Monday.

The car, a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, was taken from a Claremont Avenue residence while the owner left it running with the keys inside, police said.

 “Officers responded and saw the vehicle on Pompton and Bloomfield avenues,” police said.

The vehicle was last seen heading south on Prospect Avenue into West Orange, police said.

As of Monday, April 1, the vehicle had not been recovered.
