Veterans, Protesters Plan To March Against Federal Cuts In North Jersey
Military veterans and community organizers are protesting federal budget cuts taking place under the Trump administration.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Military veterans and community organizers are planning to hold a march in Essex County on Friday, June 6 to protest federal cuts taking place under the Trump administration.
According to a news release from organizers, the local march – which will take place in the Oranges – is being held in solidarity of a national “call to action” that is taking place in Washington D.C. and other cities. Demonstrators are calling for the protection of veterans’ benefits and jobs, which they say are being harmed by the ongoing budget cuts taking place under President Donald Trump.
The call to action is taking place on the anniversary of the pivotal World War II battle known as “D-Day.”
