Volunteers Needed for Unusual Marathon
Volunteers needed for 24-hour art marathon to support programs for artists with disabilities and seniors.

Arts Unbound is a non-profit gallery and art studio in Orange serving people with disabilities and seniors. In May, Arts Unbound is hosting our first ever art marathon, a 24-hour art making session. Participants will raise pledges (per hour or or per piece of art produced), much like in a walk-a-thon. They will make art either at our gallery, other sites, or at home. Social media will be used to keep participants and observers engaged throughout. All the work produced will be auctioned to benefit our programs at an event the Friday after the marathon.
The event will take place from noon on Saturday May 16th to noon on Sunday May 17th. We need volunteers to work in groups of 3 for 3-hour shifts, so we need at least 18 volunteers total. In each trio, one person would be in charge of social media (photographing the event and the art and posting it with appropriate hashtags, monitoring the livestream), one would be in charge of keeping things clean and stocking the snack table and bathroom, and one would be a general gopher handling things that come up and supporting the participants. We would provide volunteer training the Saturday afternoon before the event.
This project is a great fit for an existing group that would like to serve together, but we are also recruiting individuals. Interested people should call Arts Unbound at 973-675-2787 or email info@artsunbound.org.
