“We will honor the extraordinary contributions of cvic and community leaders and our residents who exemplify a legacy of advocacy for safe and affordable housing for our citizens, McNeil continued.

Washington Manor was constructed and put into service by the Housing Authority of the City of Orange in August 1972. The building features 250 units and provides safe, secure, and stable affordable housing for low-income seniors.

Over the years, the purpose of the building has expanded to provide much more than affordable housing. Washington Manor offers a spacious community space, and the resources needed by our Seniors so that they may thrive and live independently.

The management and staff provides extensive supportive services including nutritional, social, recreational, health, and technology assistance to our residents to allow them to improve their living experience at Washington Manor.

The HACO has also improved the physical space to enhance the curb appeal of the development to make it more attractive. The HACO recently changed the front façade to reflect a calm, inviting professional setting, introduced native plants and trees in front of the building and around the property to enhance the image of the property, as well as begun updates to the units.
