Watch West Orange Council Candidate Debate: 2020 Election
West Orange's township council candidates had a lively exchange during a virtual debate hosted by the West Orange Youth Caucus.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange’s township council candidates had a lively exchange during a virtual debate hosted by the West Orange Youth Caucus on Wednesday evening.
The debate gave each of the seven candidates a chance to sound off over issues that included term limits, systemic racism, the West Orange Police Department’s contract, campaign finance laws, and the recent appellate court decision on Executive Drive's redevelopment.
There are three, four-year terms available on the council during this year’s election, which will take place mostly via mail due to the coronavirus crisis. Incumbents Michelle Casalino and Jerry Guarino face challenges from Monica Perkowski, Bill Rutherford, Susan Scarpa, Brent Scott, and Tammy Williams.
