West Orange Band Competition May Cause Noise, Traffic On Saturday

WEST ORANGE, NJ — If you hear the sound of music in West Orange on Saturday, don’t lose your cool: it’s only the high school’s annual band competition, officials say.
The Township of West Orange issued the following advisory about the upcoming event:
“West Orange High School will hold its annual band competition on Saturday, Oct. 7 between 3 and 9 p.m. The event may lead to temporary higher noise volume, traffic and parking congestion between the hours of 1 and 10 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.”
The event is one of the largest marching band competitions in the area, featuring more than 15 schools and with an anticipated attendance of more than 2,000 spectators and competitors. Learn more here.
