The West Orange Board of Education is meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018, at the WOBOE Central Offices, Room 203, to address time sensitive legal and personnel matters. During the Board’s second Executive Session on Monday evening, October 15, 2018, the Board determined that it required another Executive Session meeting. Due to the Board Members’ schedule challenges and the Open Public Meeting Act’s requirement of at least 48-hours advance, public notice printed in its official newspaper, this Friday morning (October 19, 2018) was the earliest date that the Board could convene a special public meeting. Additionally, Board Members have travel and other schedule commitments during traditional, evening meeting hours, this week and next week.
In accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, the Board will meet in Open Session before immediately retiring to Closed Executive Session. The Board anticipates that the length of the Closed Executive Session will be thirty (30) minutes in length. Thereafter, the Board will reconvene in Open Session to vote on agenda items and take comments from the public. The Board’s special meeting agenda will be posted on the District’s website, by tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, October 18, 2018, and hard copies of the agenda will be available to the public at the October 19, 2018, 8:30 a.m. Board meeting.
