In West Orange: Bowling Competition Helps Seniors Keep Rolling

"Bowling is a sport that is enjoyable but also easily adaptable so that one can play according to their level of physical functioning."

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Bowling is a popular activity for residents at Daughters of Israel, a skilled long-term nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility in West Orange, particularly during January, which was “National Bowling Month.”

On Jan. 25, all six units of the home sent representatives to compete in a house-wide bowling competition, according to a news release.

“The goal of our therapeutic recreational department here at Daughters of Israel is to engage our residents as fully as possible in activities that are both physically and mentally stimulating,” said Executive Director of Daughters of Israel Susan Grosser.
