West Orange High School varsity cheerleaders joined their younger counterparts for a special performance.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange High School Varsity cheerleaders recently welcomed their younger counterparts on the Police Athletic League (PAL) cheer team to Suriano Stadium for a special performance.

According to district officials:

“As part of a continuing feeder and mentoring program, PAL works with the school district to develop and connect young athletes that will excel at the high school level as they move through the programs. Coordinated by WOHS Head Cheer Coach Taylor Calixto and her team and Cheryl Merklinger, board of education member and PAL leader, the girls spent the evening together and performed a special routine at halftime.”

In addition to their performance, the girls enjoyed an exciting evening as Homecoming Royalty was crowned, the Mountaineers took the win over Montclair 35-21, District Band Night rocked Suriano Stadium, and the award-winning Marching Mountaineer's performed.
