West Orange Church Hands Out $30K In Groceries For Thanksgiving
"I recently realized that I had no money, but I needed to feed my grandkids," one recipient said. "All I had was one box of pancakes."
WEST ORANGE, NJ — A church in West Orange recently gave away more than $30,000 worth of groceries to people in need for Thanksgiving.
Members of The Life Christian Church assembled and distributed 250 baskets of food to members of the community for the holiday. The groceries were collected from the church’s congregants and put together into packages by volunteers. Each package contained a full Thanksgiving meal – and enough extra food to last another week.
One basket recipient said the delivery of the baskets came at the perfect time.
