WEST ORANGE, NJ — How do you get rid of leaves in West Orange?

As part of the town’s 2018 leaf collection program, officials released the following information about pickup procedures in West Orange (click here to read the full announcement):

“West Orange's Fall 2018 Leaf Collection Program will consist of the collection of both bagged leaves and loose leaves placed along the curb and gutter of all public municipal streets. Bagged leaves will be collected from October 15 thru December 29, 2018. Leaves may only be placed in brown biodegradable paper bags which are available at the Public Works Building, 25 Lakeside Avenue and the Municipal Building, 66 Main Street. Their cost is five bags for $2. Bagged leaves will be collected weekly in accordance with the schedule below. Bags containing materials other than leaves will not be collected.”

“The loose leaves collection program will comply with NJDEP regulations. Leaves shall not be placed along the curb and gutter more than seven days prior to their scheduled collection. Also leaves may not be placed within 10 feet of a drainage inlet. Leaves may only be placed along the curb and gutter from October 29 thru December 23, 2018. Loose leaves will be collected by zone in accordance with the following schedule. Check the street index for your street and zone. This schedule applies only to public municipal streets.
