West Orange FD Responds To 'Possible Drowning' On July 4th

An 18-month-old child was breathing when West Orange firefighters arrived on the scene of a "possible drowning," authorities said.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — An 18-month-old child in West Orange was taken to the hospital after emergency responders arrived at the scene of a “possible drowning” on July 4th, authorities said.

According to a West Orange spokesperson, the incident took place at a Winding Way home on Thursday.

Family members immediately began rescue efforts, and the 18-month-old was breathing when firefighters arrived on the scene, authorities said.

Emergency responders transported the child to a nearby hospital. The youth’s current condition is unknown as of Friday, authorities said.
