West Orange Firefighters, Police Officers Promoted (See The List)

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Several local emergency responders were promoted or sworn in at the West Orange Town Council’s final meeting of 2024.

With family and friends in attendance, fire chief Anthony Vecchio and police chief James Abbott led the ceremonies for their respective departments at the meeting.

West Orange Fire Department promotions included:

• Recruit Firefighter Vincent DeSantis sworn-in to the rank of Probationary Firefighter
• Recruit Firefighter Francisco Gonzalez sworn-in to the rank of Probationary Firefighter
• Firefighter Glen Coppola promoted to the rank of Fire Captain

West Orange Police Department promotions included:

• Recruit William Eugene Evans Jr. promoted to rank of Police Officer
• Police Officer Matthew Reiss promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant
• Police Officer Anthony Piserchio promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant
• Police Sergeant Jeffrey Krimmel promoted to the rank of Police Lieutenant
• Police Sergeant Brad Squires promoted to the rank of Police Lieutenant
• Police Lieutenant Patrick Matullo promoted to the rank of Police Captain
