Fireworks & Public Safety Announcement

This is a message from Mayor Robert Parisi with an important reminder about the use of fireworks and public safety. We urge all residents to remember the obligations we all have, especially during summertime, to be good neighbors while enjoying outdoor celebrations. The West Orange Police department has been receiving more calls than normal regarding the use of fireworks. Although, they may seem harmless, launching exploding fireworks is unlawful and dangerous, and disturbing to others. Pinpointing their origin can often be difficult but the WOPD is committed to keeping the public safe from their misuse. Please report all ongoing occurrences to the police desk at 973-325-4000, so that proper actions can be taken against those responsible. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation as we all prepare to have a safe summer.
