Junior striker Raven Edwards led the West Orange High girls soccer team to a 4-2 win over Bloomfield Tuesday afternoon in a North Jersey, Section I Group IV first-round game.
The No. 5 seed Mountaineers will play at No. 4 seed Livingston Friday at 2 p.m. in the sectional quarterfinals. Senior forward Nubia Rodriguez and junior forward Ariel Almodovar scored before halftime to extend the lead to 3-0. Rodriguez scored her second goal 16 seconds into the second half to make it 4-0. West Orange is 16-3-1.
Rodriguez assisted on Edwards' goal, sophomore center back Casey Kriak assisted on Rodriguez' first goal and junior midfielder Melissa Lackey assisted on Almodovar's score. Lackey also assisted on Rodriguez' second goal.
