West Orange Girls Score Commanding Win

Amafuma has career high in rout of Caldwell

After losing a one-point thriller at Nutley Thursday afternoon, the West Orange High girls got back to doing what's come natural recently — winning.

The Mountaineers got back over .500 with a 52-24 home romp over Caldwell. The standout was clear — sophomore center Chisom Amafuma scored a career-high 33 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, made four steals and blocked a shot.

"Chisom was great and the girls played well," said coach Kim Wilson. "The girls played excellent defense. We lost at Nutley, which is a tough place to play. But everybody did their job today. We're getting better, improving every day."
