West Orange High School Seniors Can Now Leave Campus For Lunch
Make no mistake, West Orange school officials reminded students – it's a "privilege," not a right.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange High School will be letting seniors leave campus at lunch for the upcoming school year. But make no mistake – it’s a “privilege,” not a right, administrators say.
The West Orange Public School District made the following announcement earlier this week:
“Seniors will be offered the *privilege* of leaving campus at lunch time this upcoming school year. Seniors who wish to leave campus during lunch MUST adhere to specific rules to maintain this privilege.”
According to a district social media post, the rules include:

- Students must wear their ID when leaving and returning to campus
- Students can return only through the Conforti or PVW main entrances and the Tarnoff gym lobby. They will be required to display their ID.
- Students can’t “linger or loiter” on campus.
