West Orange HS Girls Basketball Team Wins 2nd-Straight NJSIAA Title

The West Orange High School Girls Basketball team won their second straight NJSIAA North Jersey, Section I, Group title in a 55-42 win over Morristown on March 5.
The top-seeded Mountaineers shot out of the gate with a strong defense against the second-seed Colonials. Throughout the game, West Orange held the lead, only allowing an eight-point difference twice during the game. West Orange's London Caldwell managed 11 points despite fouling out, and Rhyan Watt was West Orange's top scorer with 23 points.

Morristown's star sophomore, Nawel Ibazatene Lefebvre, added 24 points. The young team, who beat West Orange three years ago, will continue to be a force to be reckoned with as they end their season 22-8.
"We went into this season knowing that last year, we just came up a little short," said Head Coach Caniece Williams, but this year, we want to go all the way."

West Orange, now 28-3, will play the winner of the Bayonne/Westfield game in the group semifinals next week, time and place TBA.
