West Orange HS Inducts Record Number Into National Honors Society
A whopping total of 91 West Orange High School juniors were inducted into the National Honor Society.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A record-breaking total of 91 West Orange High School juniors were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) earlier this month.
The high-achieving students were honored during a ceremony on June 8 at the high school auditorium.

“The NHS is represented by four pillars marked ‘scholarship, leadership, service, and character.’ Established in 1921, the National Honor Society requires students to complete an application and essay and have a GPA of 3.55 or higher for membership consideration.”
“As the proud principal of West Orange High School, I am excited to be here to recognize so many of our outstanding students,” Hayden Moore said at the ceremony.
Co-advisors Anna D'Elia and Gregory Saul presented certificates and pins to the new members, along with a white rose.

Meanwhile, outgoing officers Dev Patel (president), Aaliyah Kamalei (vice-president), Brianna Dannemiller (secretary), and Ryan Retino (treasurer), welcomed the new members and led them in the National Honor Society oath, which reads: “I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected. I will be true to the principles for which it stands, I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character.”
Seniors in the National Honor Society received their cords for graduation earlier in the day.
