West Orange HS Wrestler Earns Cheers After Her Historic Tourney Win
Jazzi Lopez became the only first-year student in West Orange High School history to win the North 2 Regional Wrestling Championship.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The bad news for Jazzi Lopez’s opponents? The star wrestler at West Orange High School still has three more years of competing in her future.
Lopez recently notched a historic victory when she became the only first-year student in school history to win the North 2 Regional Wrestling Championship. Lopez’s triumph came in the 107-pound girls category, where she went 4-0 in the tournament as the fourth seed. Her victories included a thrilling 12-10 upset over the top seed in the semifinals and a come-from-behind pin over the second seed in the finals.
Lopez’s win has earned her a spot in the NJSIAA State Individual Championships, which will take place at Phillipsburg High School next weekend.
