West Orange Jazz Musician Nominated For 2022 Grammy Award

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A lauded bassist and composer from West Orange has earned a nomination in the 2022 Grammy Awards: Carlos Henriquez.

Henriquez was nominated in the “Best Latin Jazz Album” category for his multi-movement work, “The South Bronx Story.” According to Henriquez’s website, the album draws upon his own memories of growing up in the Bronx and his Puerto Rican heritage.

The award aims to recognize recordings that represent the blending of jazz with Latin, Iberian-American, Brazilian, and Argentinian tango music. See other nominees here.
