West Orange Council, BOE Election 2016: Early Local Results Released

WEST ORANGE, NJ — One of the most mud-splattered U.S. presidential elections in recent history officially left its mark in West Orange for 2016 when voters weighed in Tuesday. But whose candidates will emerge victorious?
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. statewide on Tuesday. Check back to keep posted on local election day winners and losers. Patch will update this article when final results are released.
According to the Essex County Clerk's Office, the early results are as follows:

- Jerry Guarino - 7,305 votes (20.73 %)
- Joe Krakoviak - 6,562 votes (18.62 %)
- Susan Scarpa - 5,370 votes (15.24 %)
- Akil Khalfani - 4,783 votes (13.57 %)
- Monica Perkowski - 4,661 votes (13.23 %)
- Michelle Casalino - 6,496 votes (18.44 %)

- Mark A. Robertson - 4,226 votes (18.15 %)
- Tanya Atterberry - 3,403 votes (14.62 %)
- Sandra M. Mordecai - 5,076 votes (21.8 %)

- Christopher Diaz - 3,453 votes (14.83 %)
- Stephen Christiano - 3,627 votes (15.58 %)

Several reported issues and delays were seen across New Jersey on Tuesday, including polling place lines that stretched blocks, a sign that appeared to tell voters that they needed ID to cast a ballot and malfunctioning voting machines.
