West Orange Mourners Plan Vigil For Orlando Shooting Victims: Thursday
The vigil will mourn the loss of dozens of Orlando massacre victims killed at a gay nightclub.

West Orange, NJ – Community members in West Orange will gather on Thursday night for a vigil in mourning of the shooting victims of a tragic massacre in Orlando, Florida.
According to the West Orange Human Relations Commission, a special community vigil is slated for Thursday, June 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clipper Picnic Pavilion in the Essex County Paddle Boat House, West Orange.
“Help us make a strong showing of solidarity and spread a message of love and tolerance, and to speak out against the anti-LGBT violence that threatens all of us as Americans,” organizers stated on social media.

Attendees are encouraged to bring rainbow flags and #WeAreOrlando signs; parking is available on Cherry Lane, and on Northfield Avenue near McLoone's Boathouse, organizers stated.

The mass shooting at the Orlando gay nightclub is being described as the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
The shooting took place at Pulse Orlando Night Club & Ultra Lounge, where about 350 people were dancing and drinking.

The reported death toll far surpassed an attack at Virginia Tech in 2007, where 33 were killed, as well as high-profile attacks at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., in 2013, where 28 died, and a mass shooting that killed 14 in San Bernardino, Calif., last December.
