West Orange Mustangs Take Three of Four in Bayonne
Highlight of weekend was junior varsity's 7-0 win
The West Orange Mustangs Pop Warner teams won three of four games this weekend in Bayonne.
The highlight of the weekend was the junior varsity's 7-0 win.
Quarterback Jonah Brodsky engineered the victory controlling the ball on offense. He connected on several passes, including a 40 yard hook-up with Micheal Strazza, Strazza also returns kickoffs for the Mustangs.

Willie Graves led an outstanding performance by the backs. He had a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter on a fourth-and-25. Work-horse D'Andre Hull ran the ball to the Bayonne 1-yard line and Brodsky snuck in for the touchdown from a yard out.
Interceptions by Andres Campiglia and Strazza and fumble recoveries by Andrew Dada led the defense. Linemen Ruggerri Guillaume, Kyle Green, Chris Knighton, Anthony Charles, Alex Elliot and Raphael Twelde were outstanding.

The Pee Wee Mustangs rolled over Bayonne 25-7 as Devin White scored on two 20-yard runs and also made four tackles, including a touchdown-saving tackle at the Mustang 5-yard line.
Avery Hackett rushed more more than 100 yards and had a 50-yard touchdown. Frank D'Angelis made an extra point and was masterful on offense as the quarterback. The Pee Wees forced several Bayonne fumbles. Nigel Timothy had five tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Jason Massay, Channing Russel, Caleb McNeil, Nathaniel Ferguson, Brendan Peart and Michael Gordon were also outstanding on defense.
The junior Pee Wees also continued their great season with a 21-14 victory. Jordan White had two touchdowns, while David Johnson scored the other touchdown. White added an extra point and a two-point conversion.
Renard Barnes had several long runs including a 24 yard run to the Bayonne one-yard line. Quarterback Cade Lipsey pitched in with a couple of outstanding runs. Justice Remar recovered a fumble and was in on four tackles, including a touchdown-saving stop.
Josh Rivas caused havoc in the Bayonne backfield and Anthony Homere, Wes Rideau-Winds, Stephon Ali-Ramroop, Michael Verducci, Brian DiPalma and Antonio Elifani were outstanding.
Noel Amir added an outstanding kickoff return.
Quarterback Julius Puryear turned in strong game in the Mustangs' 24-6 loss to Bayonne. He just missed connection with Issiah Morgan on a 50-yard completion.
Puryear caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Marshal Lipsey and also had a 40-yard punt return. Emanuel Agyekum and Puryear were the targets of Lipsey's passing game in the second half.
The Mustangs were led on defense by Shaq Grosvenor and Andrew Cumming,who had four tackles apiece. Chris Debe, Josh Strauss, Tyler Allen and Kurk Sumner were active on defense and Donrelle Homere had an interception.
