West Orange Ob-Gyn Celebrates Anniversary Of Mammography Center

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A West Orange ob-gyn practice celebrated the anniversary of its on-site mammography center on International Women’s Day.

The Rubino OB/GYN Group held an event for staff and patients at noon on March 8 in commemoration of the milestone. According to a news release from the practice, it’s the first in the state to offer “modern, 3D mammography services within its facility.”

The new center, located in the practice’s West Orange office, has enabled women the convenience of having annual wellness exams and mammography screenings during the same visit, the group stated.

“Many patients have mentioned they wouldn’t have gone for a mammogram without the convenience of having it as part of their checkup appointment,” founder Robert Rubino said.

Rubino recalled receiving a thank-you note from a patient who had an early stage breast cancer detected at the center.

“She only decided to get the mammogram because it was readily accessible,” Rubino said. “This patient’s positive prognosis could have been much different had she delayed having the 3D mammography screening.”
