West Orange Officials ‘Reexamining’ Township Master Plan
The West Orange Planning Board is inviting the public to learn more about possible changes to the Master Plan on Jan. 29.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Planning Board is inviting the public to learn more about possible changes to the municipal Master Plan at a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
According to a town news release, officials are “reexamining” the Master Plan, which was last revised in 2010. The document provides a policy framework on issues such as land use and development, transportation, community facilities and preservation. It also serves as the basis for the Zoning Ordinance, which formally regulates development.

“The West Orange Planning Board is guiding the preparation of the Master Plan Reexamination. The planning process will incorporate the input of the township’s residents and business community, through public meetings as well as other outreach efforts. The West Orange Planning Board has retained Phillips Preiss Grygiel Leheny Hughes LLC, planning and real estate consultants, to assist with the preparation of the reexamination.”
The meeting takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 29 at Liberty Middle School, 1 Kelly Drive, West Orange.
There will be three goals at the meeting, officials said:

- Explain the purpose, scope and requirements of the Master Plan Reexamination
- Describe the overall project timeline and opportunities for public involvement
- Solicit initial input from the public
