Wins two of three at Kearny

Junior Pee Wee Mustangs 28, Kearny Kardinals 6

Jordan White got the Mustangs out to a quick start as he picked off a pass and returned it 60 yards for a touchdown. He then recovered the ensuing kickoff, and scored his second touchdown on a 50-yard run. David Johnson ran in the two-point conversion. White then capped his amazing first quarter with yet another interception.

Renard Barnes had a 40-yard touchdown run and Wes Rideau-Winds added the extra point. Michael Charles also had an outstanding day, clearing out Kearny defenders with crunching blocks. Winds later added a 45-yard touchdown run. Sean Noel and Brian Reitberger had outstanding days on defense. Jackson Marcantonio, Anthony Homere, Tyler Tucker, Micheal Guiterrez, Noel Amir all had excellent defensive efforts.

Pee Wee Mustangs 20, Kearny Kardinals 7

 Frank DeAngelis and Nathaniel Ferguson connected for a  40 yard touchdown reception and a two-point point conversion. Devon White had two touchdown runs, including a 60-yard scamper.

Avery Hackett, Aaron Puryear and Vincent DeSantis  and Myles Douglin had big days on offense. Doughlin and DeSantis both played quarterback in the second half. Nigel Timothy recorded eight tackles and two sacks.

Jason Massay, Mark Starbiniski, Shamik Gonzolez, Caleb Mcneil and  Abraham Dada contributed big plays on defense. The offensive line was strong with Brian Crann, Sebastian Rawles, Max Telemaque and Jason Massay clearing the way and protecting their quarterbacks. 

Kearny Kardinals 29, West Orange Varsity  9

West Orange quarterbacks Julius Puryear and Marshall Lipsey were playing well, but both had to leave with injuries. Quarterback Quadir Homere came in and went 80 yards for a score with Andrew Cumming converting the extra point.  Michael Benn had eight tackles and Shaquille Grovesnor was outstanding up front. Jonathan Johnson had four tackles and was backed up by good efforts by Josh Strauss, Donrelle Homere and Justin Givens.

Kearny did not have a Junior Varsity so the Mustang JV received a victory by forfeit.
